Description
The Nisaku 6200 Hori Hori Garden Knife is a compact Japanese gardening knife designed to be carried and used wherever a versatile hand tool is useful. Known as Yamakodachi, or "mountain short sword," this smaller Hori Hori combines a practical size with the distinctive shape and versatility of a traditional Japanese digging knife.
The 130 mm stainless-steel blade has a straight cutting edge on one side and a serrated edge on the other, making it useful for digging, planting, weeding, cutting roots, small branches and other everyday garden tasks. Graduated markings on the back of the blade help with precise planting depth, while the compact size makes the knife particularly convenient for working in smaller spaces or carrying with you when gardening, foraging or camping.
The blade is mirror-polished 420J2 stainless steel, with the entire blade heat-treated to produce uniform hardness and allow it to be resharpened over time. The natural wood handle gives the knife a warm, tactile character that contrasts beautifully with the polished steel.
A synthetic leather sheath with a belt loop is included, making it easy to keep the knife close at hand rather than leaving it in the shed or toolbox. Small enough to carry, it's a versatile companion for gardening, foraging, camping and other outdoor work.
It's a small tool, but not a small idea. When a tool is this thoughtfully made, it makes you want to keep it close —and lets the work be a little less ordinary.

Love my little Hori Hori! I hang it on my belt whenever I go into the garden and keep discovering new things to use for it. Beautiful Japanese craftmanship.
